About Paul Darrow
Paul Darrow has been a photographer for more than 20 years and has a wide variety of experience. He is most adept at shooting on-location events and his hallmark is a flexibility to capture photographs in the most unpredictable circumstances.
Paul is contracted with Thomson-Reuters wire service as photographer for the Atlantic region and also does work for news publications such as The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, National Post, Canwest News, New York Times and Saint John Telegraph Journal. He was the chief photographer at the Halifax Daily News until 2006.
His work has appeared in prestigious publications such as National Geographic, Rolling Stone Magazine, Time, Newsweek, Macleans Magazine, Report on Business Magazine and a variety of other Canadian and international periodicals.
Paul has documented many events and traveled extensively during the course of his career. Prime Ministers from Pierre Elliott Trudeau to Stephen Harper; U.S. Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush; Russian President Boris Yeltsin; Archbishop Desmond Tutu; the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney; and Prince Charles and Lady Diana have all been expertly photographed by Paul.
He has photographed such famous events as the Swissair 111 aircraft disaster, the 2004 devastation of Hurricane Juan, annual seal hunt off the East Coast, G7 world leaders meeting in 1995; and a host of pro sports from NHL hockey and NBA basketball to CFL football to LPGA golf.
Paul's versatility allows him to photograph in all locations from the rugged terrain of Labrador to the heat of Florida and throughout Europe.
